We
are pleased to greet you and give you a brief
introduction to our work and ministry.
ATS
exists to serve the church, and friends like
you, in the area of evangelism. First and foremost,
our purpose is to reach the world with the life-changing
message of Jesus Christ. Second, we want to prepare
and encourage Christians to share the gospel
using powerful, attention-getting evangelism
tools like those you will see here on our website.
To
accomplish these objectives, ATS serves as a
non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. This means
the financial gifts that friends like you make
to American Tract are fully income tax deductible
as allowed by law. This is an important benefit,
because ATS depends primarily on the goodwill
of caring people who support our outreach with
their gifts and prayers.
We
also sell our tracts and other evangelism tools
at, or even below, our actual cost of production.
This benefits you each time your purchase ATS
materials for your own use, and encourages the
wide distribution of these life-changing materials.
At
ATS, we also carry out a number of vital ministry
projects that do not generate any income at all.
This includes helping foreign ministries start
up thriving tract societies in their countries.
In recent years, we have helped launch new tract
societies in Korea, India, Canada, Australia,
and Sweden. We also frequently supply tracts
to qualifying prison ministries, children's outreach
events, and evangelistic crusades.
One
of our most enjoyable yearly events is to present
personalized Bibles to each member
of the incoming class of cadets at the U.S. Military
Academy at West Point . . . an annual ministry
ATS has conducted every year since 1869! We have
also developed similar outreaches to the U.S.
Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy, Merchant
Marine Academy, and the U.S. Senate.
These
important outreaches putting God's Word into
the hands of our nation's leaders, present and
future, continue each year only through the financial
support of people who believe in this work.
You
can take part in all of these specific projects
when you make your donations to the American
Tract Society. Your financial support also helps
to provide part of the cost involved in printing
and distributing tracts to deserving ministries
that cannot afford to pay the full cost of these
evangelism tools.
We
sincerely seek your prayer support of our work,
and ask that any financial contributions you
make be upheld with prayer. We believe this is
essential, for it is God who ultimately shapes
and guides the ministry of the American Tract
Society. I have learned all too well that without
Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
We
would be honored if you decide to join us in
our ongoing efforts to help Christians share
the Good News of Jesus Christ.
God bless you,

Dan
Southern
President
