What is Narnia?
Here is your passport to a most extraordinary excursion. Written by C. S. Lewis during the 1950's, The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven books which spin enchanted tales of adventure in a magical land called Narnia. The first in the Narnia Chronicles is now a feature-length film entitled, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
This Narnia film is a delightful story about the four children, all brothers and sisters, who enter through the door of a "wardrobe" (a closet), into the wonderful world of Narnia. The characters each face particular challenges as they learn important lessons about themselves, life, and each other.
Lucy is the youngest of the four children. She is always kind, cheerful, and very brave. She is the first of the children to venture into Narnia.
Susan is the second-oldest child. She and her sister are called "the daughters of Eve," a title identifying them as humans, in contrast to the magical characters in Narnia. Her beauty is derived from her sweet kindness.
Edmund is the third-oldest child. He is a mean, spiteful brat who enjoys teasing his sister Lucy. He is an example of how sinful greed, in this case for the enchanted candy Turkish Delight, leads one down a very destructive path.
Peter is the oldest. He and his brother are termed "the sons of Adam." He is noble and courageous.
